How to identify an acid or base without litmus paper, phenolphthalein and methyl orange?

 We can easily tell whether a substance is an acid or base with the help of litmus paper, phenolphthalein and methyl orange.

But here we got the home method :

Go to your kitchen and get some red cabbage.

if

 {Not found any cabbage in the kitchen?}

 Go to the nearby store and buy it quickly!

else

{You got red cabbage?}

 good!

Take the juice out of that good red cabbage and boil it.

The liquid will turn to dark bluish-purple color which means that the liquid is neutral.

Now after you add some liquid;

if the boiled juice changes to red then acid and if it changes to yellow or green then its base.

Try and find out what things in your kitchen are acid or base!
